First-Cutting Hay Blues

So much has happened recently.

The rest of the Pin-Up photos, of me, are finished.

We discovered that the mule next door knows how to let himself out of his enclosure. He let himself out yesterday when our neighbors weren’t home, but luckily a passing motorist saw him and called to two boarders who were here. The boarders helped corral him and get him into the barn until the neighbors arrived home. Unfortunately, once we did arrive home and spoke to the neighbors, the kids hadn’t told their parents the mule was loose. (Oops.) They finally chained the gates, though, so hopefully Jake won’t start hitchhiking again any time soon.

Two of my Minions bought a horse. His name is Hunter, and he’s a 5 year-old Quarter horse with the same markings as Melody, just on a Sorrel body. Photos will follow. Eventually.

I have first cutting hay in, but it’s sad. First cutting is never as good as second or third. I can’t wait until all this hay is gone and we can use the good hay from mid-summer.
