And the winner is…

     …Sarah!

I knew I would reign victorious. If for no other reason than my tenacity. No horse could ever outlast me.

I discovered the ribbon wire was lower in some areas than others. This was problem number one. I added taller T-posts and fixed that.  The second problem was that the original grounding rod was only 6 feet long. When I used an 8 ft grounding rod, the problem was solved. SOLVED! Hooray!

Once I finally let the kids out to inspect the fence, Senorita touched the hotwire tape and had a sharp intake of breath. She did it again, and again, and again. I kinda wondered about her memory retention, as images of “10-second Tom” from Fifty First Dates danced through my head, but I kept watching her. Eventually she lost interest and went back to the herd.

I’m delighted. The ponies are outside tonight.

  1. That fence got us pretty well, even after you said “don’t touch that” =D
Thanks for letting us hang out with your horses.

    • You’re welcome. I hope more students come out for events like the one today. Feel free to spread the word, and let others know about us.
As for the fence, I like to quote one of my little tiny lesson students. “Be careful. That fence will bite you.”
