Cricket is leaving.
She is the third horse at Firefly Farm on a pre-purchase trial. The sale was contingent upon a Vet exam. Like the other two, she did not pass.
Though it seems difficult to imagine, a pre-purchase exam is the most valuable tool available to a potential horse buyer. It can save years of heartache. Sometimes after the sale a purchaser discovers that the horse had a chronic disease or lameness issues. Finding out this information before the sale is complete helps to avoid “falling in love” with a project horse who is incapable of the desired purpose.
She’ll be heading out and we’ll be allowing in a seasonal boarder for a month and a half. We’ll miss Crickee. She was very sweet, and we adore her.
